| Description | The yarn has been spun into a Sports-weight and can be used for heavier socks to lighter pullovers, hats, and scarves. Use size 4 to 6 knitting needles, and work about 20 to 24 stitches to 4 inches. We have put together two of our true black alpacas for this yarn. The fiber is from WCA Chocolate Moreno and WCA Chicory. When Reno was 2 years old he won a 3rd place at the Ohio Alpacafest for Huacaya Full Fleece Male. In 2003 he placed 2nd as a 3 year old as a Huacaya Full Fleece true black at the Pennsylvania Alpaca Breeders Association Show. In 2005 his fiber won a 5th place in the Fiber to Fashion Show in the Handcrafters Spin Off Competition. His fiber is wonderful to work with and many items have been knitted out of his fiber. His micron count was 23.3 at the age of 6 years. Chicory is a true black female and has never been shown. Her micron count was 26.9 with this clip, but falls within the superfine category. |
